A Light-Filled Contemporary Dining Room
The interior of Kitchen & Menu is designed around natural light, coastal materials, and the rhythm of the chef's pass. High ceilings and large windows create a bright, airy atmosphere. Limestone and ceramic surfaces reflect daylight, giving the room a warm gallery feel. The layout is open and uncluttered, allowing the kitchen to remain visible from most tables.
The Dining Room
Limestone, Timber, and Ceramic
The dining room combines natural materials to create a warm, contemporary space. Walls are finished in a soft limestone plaster that changes tone with the daylight. Tables are solid rimu timber, each with a unique grain. Ceramic pendant lights hang above each table, casting a warm glow in the evening.

Seating for Every Occasion
The dining room offers a mix of seating arrangements, from intimate tables for two to larger group settings. Banquette seating along the walls provides comfort and a view of the room. Freestanding tables can be combined for groups of up to eight. The spacing between tables is generous, ensuring privacy and a relaxed pace.
The Chef's Pass
An Open Kitchen at the Heart of the Room
The chef's pass is positioned so that diners can watch the kitchen team at work. The pass is a long counter of polished concrete, separating the kitchen from the dining room. Chefs plate each dish directly in front of the pass, creating a theatrical moment. The open design encourages conversation between guests and the kitchen team.
Materials and Details
The pass is framed by a teal ceramic tile splashback and a slim brass rail. The teal tiles echo the coastal palette of the restaurant. The brass rail holds order tickets and small tools, adding a functional detail. Overhead, a row of focused lights illuminates the plating area.
Private Dining
A Room Within the Room
The private dining area is separated from the main room by a sliding timber screen. The screen can be opened to connect the space or closed for privacy. The room seats up to 12 guests at a single long table. A dedicated service station ensures attentive but unobtrusive service.
Designed for Celebration
The private dining room is ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, and business dinners. The table can be set with custom floral arrangements and place cards. A dedicated menu can be created in consultation with the chef. The room has its own sound system for background music or speeches.
Evening Atmosphere
From Daylight to Warm Glow
As the sun sets, the interior shifts from bright daylight to a warm, intimate atmosphere. The ceramic pendant lights are dimmed to a soft glow. Candles are lit on each table, adding a flickering warmth. The limestone walls absorb the warm light, creating a cosy feel.
A Natural Transition
The evening atmosphere is designed to feel like a natural progression from dining to after-dinner relaxation. The music shifts to a slower, more ambient playlist. Guests are encouraged to linger over dessert and coffee. The bar area becomes a focal point for conversation.
The Casino Room
A Real, Physical Casino
Beyond the dining room, Kitchen & Menu includes a real physical casino with poker, roulette, and blackjack tables. The casino is a separate room with its own entrance from the restaurant. Guests must be 20 years or older to enter, in accordance with New Zealand law. All games are played face-to-face with real dealers and physical cards, chips, and wheels.

The casino is designed as a warm, geometric space that complements the restaurant's architecture. Deep green felt tables are framed by dark timber and brass details. The lighting is focused on the tables, creating an intimate atmosphere. The room is separated from the dining area by a soundproof wall, so the restaurant remains peaceful.
